I’m new to UEFN and trying to place a skydiving device, but I’m encountering an issue where there’s a blue box surrounding it. From what I’ve seen online, it should appear transparent and sleeker. I’ll attach an image below to illustrate the difference.
But what I think you need for this is to make some sort of cone shape in modelling mode, make it the size and position of your, how you want it to be, pic.
Don’t add it to the map just keep it in your Content Browser
Drop in a Volume Device, set its custom shape to the cone you made and position it where it should be.
Hide your SkyDive Volume somewhere and add the Volume Device to it as an External Volume.
Hopefully that works, may have to uncheck the Volumes Visible in Game setting, if it shows up
thank you so much for replying g,
i tried all the steps but it doesn’t seem to work and i think that is because of 2 factors
1 i couldn’t make the shape of the volume device as big as the island maximum scale of it was around 5
2 i couldn’t link the volume device to the skydive one, however there was the option to link the skydive with the volume like the opposite so i tried that and it doesn’t change anything.
once again thank you for replying.
and its like that in the game and if i disable the visibility ingame players will be clueless where to go cuz there will be no sign that they can fly in that point ifykim
Thats disappointing… I didn’t think about the size limitation on the modelling mode cones.
Had a little fiddle in UEFN
Didn’t try importing a bigger cone mesh from blender which would work
Perhaps using 2 sky volumes one for the inverted cone at ground level and another one pointing to another Volume Device using the Cylinder shape, which can get huge, like this
This could also give you seperate control to tweak the 2 volumes to behave differently like slightly more upward force in the cone or something
Then I recon maybe fake it to make it, set the Skydive volumes to Invisible and use something else for the wind effect, maybe like a spiraling Wind Spline.
Or maybe using a spline from the Landscape Mode and using a box mesh with a smokey material as its custom mesh (it will take the mesh and stretch it along the spline path)
