Skybox/Skysphere Creation

Hi everyone!

My team is attempting to create our first outside level and wanted to create a nice matte painting to serve as the skybox/skysphere. On top of this, we wanted to take advantage of the engines ability to simulate a day/night cycle. These are new areas for both myself and most of the team when it comes to best practices and techniques so any helpful tips/suggestions/directions on how to proceed would be greatly appreciated.
