i have 2 intro movies in my game and i cant skip them. i have “skippable movies on” but it doesnt work when i click my mouse. i even tried checking “wait for movies to complete” it also doesnt skip. anyone know a fix? because i didnt see alot of people have this issue.
Hey there @Itsfate399! Welcome to the community! I can’t seem to replicate the issue in 5.1 myself!
Are your movies inside the correct directory? Game/Content/Movies
Are your levels still loading by the end of the video?
Does your game have input off at a global level?
First, iam using unreal engine 4 and not 5 sorry for not clarifying that. i do have my movies inside the correct directory. and yes the level still loads after the video ends so everything seems normal except i cant skip them. i didnt understand what you meant by “does your game have input off at a global level?” what do you mean by that?
No worries, I’ll see if I can replicate it on 4.27 next, if so I can figure out where the issue may lie.
What file format is your movie?
How long are the movies?
By the load question, I meant if you uncheck “Wait for movies to complete”, does the movie skip itself when the level loads as intended? Or does it always play through, then hitch for a bit and finish loading in the level?
I’ve seen an issue before when a user was consuming all inputs with an any key node inside of their game instance, which is the only reason I ask.
my movies format are MP4. first movie is 7 secounds long and the secound one is 1 minute and 13 secounds. and when the “wait for movies to complete” was unchecked the movies would still not skip itself even when the level loads which i was confused about. it always plays through.
Hi, did u find something yet?
I’m entirely unable to replicate the issue itself even on 4.27. All settings work appropriately in each of the permutation on my side so we have to determine what’s going on. Does this occur for even new fresh projects as well?
i havent tried it on new project and i will try. and i tried this on an older project and it was working fine it was just in this project it wasent working. is it possible that something in the game instance or the begin play in the level could be interfering with the input?
I believe only game instance, game state, and possibly the game mode load first. I’d check all 3 for anything possible receiving input, either consuming it, or setting it to game only or UI only. Any kind of input modification that could cause this to occur. Do you automatically spawn your player controller in your gamemode like most defaults or do you handle it manually with another event?
