Question - The skin weights on my character’s clothing skeletal mesh was perfect. Weights were transferred from Metahuman. But, when I created an outfit via MetaHuman Wardrobe Item and attached it to my character via “Metahuman Character Creator Editor” the clothing weight is now reset to the character’s bones from Character Creator. Ignoring the weights I had set.
How do I keep the weights from my Skeletal Mesh that were fixed and working to stay on the Metahuman inside Character Creator?
Greetings! Did you ever find out a fix for this issue? I’m having a similar issue myself. I setup the weights in the Skeletal Mesh and then it overrides it with autorigged weights and breaks it all when I apply it as a Wardrobe Item.
Greetings. A colleague reached out to Epic and the response he received is that it’s a work-in-progress. Not sure when it will be addressed.
In the meantime, we’ve started using “MetaTailor” 3rd party application to weight the skin weights on our Metahuman Creator Character after it has been exported from Metahuman Creator Character via “Export Combined Skel Mesh”.
This option lets us bring in our Metahuman Character easily into MetaTailor and create our outfits there. A work-around till Epic gets this fixed.
Thanks for the quick response! Sucks it doesn’t really work properly yet. I’ll look into the Meta Tailor but probably can’t afford it atm. Might have to do it the manual way. Thanks Again!
