SketchUp Textures and Mipmaps

From what I’ve read (or seen) textures which aren’t created with dimensions based on power of 2, will not have Mipmaps created for them when imported. Is this true for textures used in SketchUp files imported with Datasmith? Should we be creating our SKP files with the appropriated texture sizes for mipmaps to be created?

Datasmith takes care of that! You don’t have to change how you author data in Sketchup.

  • maps are converted to supported format and resized to a power of 2
  • instances are preserved
  • actors are tagged with information so you can trace back some information (like look at camera components)
  • auto unwrap for lightmaps
  • and maybe more… :slight_smile:
