SketchUp models for Commercial projects?

Hello guys!

Sorry if it’s been asked before, and feel free to link to the discussions.

I’ve always wondered if we can use models from Google SketchUp’a Warehouse. They have an FAQ but all it says about the topic is:

I used a kitchen in a prototype I’m working on, and posted it on Facebook and someone noticed it and said it’d be best to not use them.
I have also left comments in certain models, asking if they can be used commercially and leaving contact info, but so far no one has answered.

What about you guys?
Have you used any models? Would you use them for commercial purposes?

Thanks!

Also, what does this mean?
“without limitation, if your use is aggregation of models”
Thanks!

I dont know much about Google SketchUp, but thinking of that it is a Google product, I think a commercial-license will be pretty expensive. I noticed that they sold it to Trimble (Google Sells SketchUp - Google Earth Blog) , so I dont know if that have changed things. I think this would be a question to Google and Trimble.

No, you can’t.

If you are going to use a model with commercial intent you need a Pro license and permission from the model owner to use it.

Edit: I’ll be more clear, you specifically don’t need a Pro license if the creator has it, but in this context you still need permission from the creator.

In other words, if there is commercial intent a Pro license and IP ownership is needed.

If you want to use Warehouse models contact the modeler and explain your intentions, you’ll probably find tons of Pro creators that wouldn’t mind if you use their models if proper credit is attributed.
