Skeleton not moving with character in Sequencer

When playing animation in the sequencer and making the skeleton visible, I notice that the skeletons aren’t moving from their location with the animation of the character. This is making it hard to match body parts from one animation to another because the skeleton isn’t technically moving.

I’ve turned on and off root motion, I’ve tried different Animation modes under the Body in the detailed panel. I’ve re-imported the fbx’s and restarted Unreal. So I’m just kinda lost right now.

So I figured out a workaround, I just blended and adjusted my animations with the Mixamo Manniquin, or the UE5 manny, and then retargetd the animations to the metahuman. It seems like when i retargeted my animations to the metahuman, it messed up the root motion or something like that? But also, the root joint for the Mixamo rig didn’t look correct either. so that could have been the thing that broke this.
