Skeleton issues while importing a skeletal mesh

hi, i’m really having a big issue in importing a skeletal mesh inside unreal 5.5.
probably since i updated unreal from 5.4 to 5.5 i started it started to happen.
So i opened a new project from quixel megascan collections and then i tried to import an fbx file of a character i made using metatailor (it was just the skeletal mesh to apply on the metahuman as clothes), but after I import it using standard import settings, the whole skeleton looks displayed in the wrong way, more specifically it looks on a different axis from the mesh

I actually tried many things like change fbx file with a similar one, change some import settings like rotation and even tried to mess with the skeleton itself trying to move the root.
It’s really complicated cause this whole thing is not allowing me to create animation on that skeletal mesh or even attach it to a metahuman

Hey Mario I had this issue too and it seems like it has been fixed with the new update.

Using this video, I created clothing, eported from Metatailor and had same issue. The skeletal mesh is facing down. retargeting animations, any use or manipulation of it won’t fix the problem .

Essentially cannot use metatailor with 5.5 as of March 2025 latest and updates.
