Skeleton Bone naming

I can’t figure out why this is happening. I’m using blender for assigning the skeleton - all the bones match the UE skeleton, and when I import, I just assign to the UE skeleton and it works for everything… except for one skeletal mesh. And I can’t figure out what is going on. When I import this mesh, it changes the head bone to “head1”… which then screws up my animations and some master pose things I have going on. Any ideas? The naming convention in blender matches exactly what I’m using on my other skeletal meshes… that when I import use the correct “head” bone. Thanks for any help!

okay figured this out, really dumb but just in case someone else runs into the same problem. If your mesh in blender is call “head” it can’t export the bone name as just “head”, no idea why… but it can’t. So it changes it to “head1”. So just rename the mesh to head1 or something else and then it will import the bone name correctly.
