Skeletal mesh reduction tool question

What does the “Remap Morph Targets” option in the Reduction Settings actually do?

The docs state that it’s to “Remap the morph targets from the base LOD onto the reduced LOD.”

It sounds like it should allow the generated LODs to maintain the morph targets that the base LOD has, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. None of the morph targets work on any of the generated LODs.

I hope I’m just doing something wrong or missing a setting somewhere.

Any help or explanation would be appreciated.

Facing the same problem on 4.23. Did you ever figure it out?
