Skeletal Mesh not appearing in viewport

Hi there. I was working on my player model into the game. I retargeted the animations from the previous model to this new model. But for some reason, when I put into my player blueprint, it doesn’t appear, just a very thin cylinder(?). It does move like the previous model though. In skeletal mesh and retargeter, it appears fine so I’m not sure how to fix this.

Appreciate any help! Thank you!

Hey @nierca! Welcome to the forums!

Not sure what is happening here, you may need to check the dimensions of your character in your blueprint. That “weird cylinder”, judging from the colors, is your character just stretched so thin it’s a toothpick.

Thank you! It’s my first time here.

Sorry, where can I check the dimensions? I’m still quite new to this actually. ><

You can find the scale when you have the mesh selected in the components tab on the left. Also, when you drag your character (no blueprint) into a level, what does it look like/what size it it?

It looks like this in the blueprint.

and this is how it looks like when I dragged the skeletal mesh into the level.

It looks fine when I put it into the level so I was quite confused.

Sorry couldn’t put 2 media in a post since I’m new.

Hey @nierca,

What does it look like when you open just the mesh in your blueprint?

Also what character blueprint are you using? Seems to the scaling is off especially after looking more at your blueprint viewport. What does it look like when you add it to your level?

Oh do you mean if it’s a Character class? When I add it to the level with this bp, it becomes like this.

Hey @nierca,

So it looks like it is safe to assume you are using a third party character blueprint. Is it one from the Marketplace? Does it have any documentation?

And I meant to click on the mesh in the list of the left hand side of your blueprint.

Hey @nierca!

Checking in! Were you able to solve the problem you were facing? Did the documentation have the solution you were looking for?

Hi!Sorry for the late response! I’ve been a little busy but I did find out the problem was with the animation blueprint. I had to redo it but thank you so much for helping!!

Hey @nierca!

It’s great to see that you solved it! Would you mind sharing your solution just in case someone else has or will have the same problem as you did?
