Single price/license Fab products?

Selling on Fab now makes me set up two prices, Personal and Professional prices.

This is confusing my audience as to which to purchase, making it sound like if they, for example, are creating a game they plan to sell, then they need the Professional license.

To make it easier for them, I’ve set both to the same price. However, it’s still confusing people as to which they should get. Also, it’s ruining our sales reports because it separates Personal and Professional sales of the same product.

Is there any way to disable this feature on our products? I don’t want two prices and licenses. I have them the same price anyway. I don’t care how much money my buyer’s project is generating, I’m going to charge the same price.

Just encourage people to go with Professional License if you have the exact same prices. For now it is only solution. Maybe in the future FAB will allow to ditch Personal License.

Everything is clearly written there:

  • If they already earn >$100,000 per year, then PROF
  • If they don’t earn $100,000 a year yet, then personal.

Representatives of the company wrote here earlier that when the buyer starts earning $ 100,000, he does not need to buy all the goods again, but he will only make future purchases like a professional, but the old ones with a personal license remain with him and he has the right to use them.

In general, I agree that it is too confusing. Here it is necessary to give the opportunity to set the conditions yourself, as at an art station, where the seller himself will be able to designate the types of licenses so that there is more price gradation, for example:

  • for personal use
  • for an indie team
  • for a small studio
  • for a studio with a large staff

It would also be nice if you could additionally provide bonus content for each license, for example, source materials that will not be in the basic version. But this is an idea for the future, although it already exists in ArtStation.

These are great to explain to the customers after they ask me, but what I’m wanting is to just have single-license so they won’t be asking in the first place.

Which means you as seller should be able to delete personal license from your products and only provide professional.

On the other hand as a seller you should also be able to provide a 3rd tier of custom license such as the one that was used to be available on Paragon items (only for use in Unreal Engine products)

and etc.

Previously in marketplace, it was a single license which means when I purchased the item, I could use it in any project be it a $1mil or $2 it was mine to use it anywhere I want. Now that same asset become 2tiers and it shows as personal which means if my on the work project sells $100,001, I have to pay something like $60 extra for the assets that I have purchased or claimed for free through free for the month!

This is a serious downgrade in my opinion

@BSarmady FAB support has already answered here on the forum that if you previously purchased a license, whether on the UE marketplace or on fab, and you began to earn more than $ 100k, then you do not need to buy anything again. No one obliges you to re-purchase the product.

P.S. The purchased goods on the UE marketplace are sold under the license of the UE marketplace, where there has not yet been a division by earnings. If the product was purchased before FAB, then you definitely do not need to buy it again.

This is interesting, but after 6 more months or a year, how would you want to show that you purchased the item before fab? is there a marker on the item?
Many of the items do not send a receipt to your email (mostly those that you claim for free, for example)

I hope this is a bug and will be fixed later. Even the Items that I have claimed here (free for personal use) does not allow me to upgrade license. I just saw in another thread that some items that people purchased for pro use, are also showing as personal license, and apparently is a bug.

If you go to your user account in Fab, you will see a Transactions section. There you will see all your bought items and items you got for free. You can then get an email receipt from the button beside the orderID if you purchased.

I found the list and go back 2 years

  • There are no links to actual item in that list (there are more than 10 items in purchase list all called “material” or just “props pack”)
  • All the purchase locations become Fab Market even those purchased or claimed before Fab
  • Items are removed from purchased list (purchased/claimed/redeemed) see screen
  • Items added by seller are not in the list (e.g. items purchased from humble bundle and added to my profile by merchant) or at least I couldn’t find the ones I purchased in last September
  • Megascan Items were previously purchased/redeemed in packs. Packs are now removed and items are added separately.
  • Some of the items that were previously purchased/redeemed are not available anymore, because seller does not sell them/repack them in bundles or other reasons and thus are not migrated anymore. (e.g a pack rubbish props that I cannot find in my Fab library anymore)
