single layer water material

i want to build a water material that works like a volumetric shape where the material is not only on the surface but you can dive through. Thats why i used the default water body lake with the already applied materials. I have several problems:

  1. my surface colour i can change thorugh the scattering parameter but when i go under water it stays blue. How can i change everywhere the scattering and colour?
  2. i dont understand where to change the opacity of the water.
  3. i would like to make the water look like noise and pixels. Is it somehow possible to not only use one colour but some texturing? → also can the noise be used as volumetric material, so you dive through the noise?

If it’s a volume then it isn’t “just" a material but a postprocess combination.

Look at things like the community ocean project to understand how stuff can work (that’s one way out of a thousand like always).
