I recently saw the video titled “Simulating Large Crowds In Niagara | Unreal Engine” on the UE5 YouTube channel, since I was searching for ways to animate a huge clashing battle between two factions with up to 500+ actors for a client project.
(In the movie itself I want them to run, fight and maybe throw spears at each other)
How would you go about it?
I wanted to ask for your help if you maybe have any tips on resources that would help in this area of animating 100s of actors at the same time because that would support me soo much in the project I’m working on.
I was and I am still looking for ways to do that but from what info I gathered so far the resources on this special topic seem to be very scarce. One plug-in I found was the AtomsCrowd (https://atoms.toolchefs.com/) but I am still figuring out if thats possible to use with my characters and the Movie Sequencer, but I haven’t gotten any other lead/ option on another way to solve this mistery.
Every helpful comment would make my day! Thank you for reading
Cheers!
Felix
Hey! Thanks a lot for the answer. I’ll keep that plug-in in mind when I have some money to spend again, sadly it costs way more than I thought/ my budget is at the moment.
Oooh thanks I saw this video but yeah as you pointed out it’s really complicated so I didn’t really invest too much into that direction.
I recently had a look at the pricing of VAMP and AtomsCrowd and it looks to me that for me at least as an Indie you only have to pay about 175€ (per year though). Might be getting more expensive over time making VAMP cheaper bc its an infinite license hmmmm… Now I’m honestly stuck between those two tools.
Have you tried AtomsCrowd as well? If so what do you think of it compared to VAMP?
