Simple Handcuffed Gameplay

I’m very new to unreal, and I would like to have a basic third person character move around a scene with handcuffs on. I’m not sure if this is something that should be handled by an animation or by the character. I’m still struggling with the unreal engine terminology so I’ve been having trouble finding resources to help break this problem down. If anyone could provide tips or tutorials I can follow, it would be much appreciated. Thank you!

Hi LJamSupreme,

I’m not knowledgeable about animation, but I think the system you’re looking for is Additive/Layered animations.

In my mind: you’d want to have your base walking animation, and then when handcuffed, override the arm bones. That way you’d still be able to use the walking anims.
