Simple Chaos Cloth - Self Collision causes FREAK OUT on SKM in UE 5.5

In the SKM Editor, when I enable “Self Collision” my mesh FREAKS OUT - see video.
How can I fix this?? (using UE 5.5)

So after much trial/error I found that using a Mesh with < 4,000 triangles was needed in order to stop this from happening. It’s still pretty sensitive even around the 3500 - 4000 count, but found improving the sim via the ITERATION and SUBDIVISION COUNTS helped (like using 10/10), but at a huge resource cost.

My initial reason for getting this working was to see if it would help with my mesh intersecting with it’s self if I just dropped the cloth onto the floor. It didn’t help at all even after trying different values for Collision Thickness, etc. I even tried that with the Content Samples Self Collision example, and even that mesh intersected itself when dropped.
