I’ve been struggling with this issue for some time now. I’m trying to get package size under magic 50 mb. Now I’ve achieved it using project launcher with “-compressed -pak” command in cooker and deleting slate folders. It shrinks size from ~80 mb to ~40mb. Now, the problem is that no matter what I do I cannot set it as non-debuggable app. Manual signing works but google play still persists, that apk is debuggable (although theres no more signing problem).
I found this topic and it looks promising though i would gladly skip building form source.
Also when using normal packaging ( not with Project Launcher) apk is signed and google play would work fine with it if it only wasnt >50mb.
So now I’m helpless, and with release of 4.7 is isn’t even possible to use OBB
When cooking “by the book” you can expand additional options and that’s where additional cooker commands are. In my case I got apk down from 64 mb to 40 mb which is huge improvement.
I see in your posted screenshot that you have the UFE build configuration set to shipping; the problem you’re seeing is it’s subsequently unable to package your project for shipping? Does the build then fail when you try to package, and if so do you mind opening an AnswerHub thread with this issue and including your failed shipping builds output logs? That will help us dig down a bit into your issue. Thanks very much!
My build is successful and game work on phone, but is signed as debuggable. When manually signed even Google Services work but still Google Play states that is is flagged as debuggable, but signed with proper key (my key). I’ve openet a post at AnswerHub, here’s link:
