Sidescroller (2.5D) -- Nonlinear map path

Hey all,
I just started building a game with Unreal Engine, really into it so far. Like every beginner, I’ve planned too large of a project for my “first step,” and though I may (need to) delay making this level until later on, I think this may be a good question to ask early since it would be a handy tool to have. I’d like this level to take the path of a circle, and for that matter, I’d like to know how to make any path that is non-linear. Still only 2 degrees of freedom, but non-linear. Could anyone point me into the right direction about how to begin?
