Showdown demo fails to build - corrupts Oculus Driver

I got the showdown demo.

First it failed to build because two nodes in the blueprint SurroundPanner were wrong. An easy fix.

Now it builds (Shipping) but when i try to run it I get…

---------------------------
Message
---------------------------
Failed to open descriptor file '../../../ShowdownVRDemo-Win64-Shipping/ShowdownVRDemo-Win64-Shipping.uproject'
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------

Any ideas?

=== later…

Ok, the Shipping build does not run at all. If I build for Development then it does run but at 1 frame per second.
My machine is i7 3.3 Ghz, 6 core. GTX 980 graphics. So it’s plenty powerful.

Oculus 0.7 SDK and Runtime.

=== And more later…

Ok. If I reboot and run the Oculus config and show the test scene, it works fine.
Also the Oculus SDK demo scene (villa) works fine.

If I then run the Unreal Showdown demo (not in the editor) I get garbage in the oculus. For example blocks of randomly colored pixels. I also get 1 frame per second.

If i then go back and run the Oculus test scenes they are also 1 frame per second and sometimes have garbage.

==== More the next day…

Ok, so I updated the NVIDIA drivers to the Oculus 0.7 compatible level.
That cured the corruption on Win10. and the 1 fps bug.

Still, on a laptop with power management turned off I get 75 fps plugged in, 40 to 50 fps unplugged.
My demo scene is the First Person Shooter sample scene with the DefaultScalability.ini file form Showdown.

Make sure you dont have any other unreal editors open or even epic games launcher sometimes can cause that also Make sure that the the solution configuration is set to Development Editor and the solution platform is set to Win64 in VS.

Only fixes ive seen to this issue on a windows setup. It happens sometimes on IOS/Html5/Android due to other things.
