As you can see, it’s really hard to know what we deleted when reviewing our changes. It would be great if it could show the last name the actor had before being deleted. I’m working with 3 people and we often deleted other people’s actors for some reason, and there’s no way to actually review it.
Thank you for your feedback. While I cannot guarantee a response, I can confirm that this has been forwarded to the appropriate team.
You can filter actors in the actors tree by package name and you can also add the package name column.
For example, enter D4C in the search field before saving the asset to see which actor is affected.
It doesn’t solve the issue, but it helps you manage changes.
Hey, thanks for your answer but are you sure you’re talking about deleted assets ?
Yes, check them before saving, to make sure nothing was deleted by accident
Good feedback,
Although it’s not directly helpful (Would require a version of project without deleted actors to check) It is possible to see/search these identifiers in the outliner.
What you’re seeing is the ‘One File Per Actor’ system. According to the UE docs (Source control section at the bottom) it’s possible to see the names with Perforce, so I think there’s hope for seeing them with URC as well.
Alright, thanks for the tip, hope it gets implement one day though
I encountered this a lot too. Primary factor why we lose content when URC is enabled when collaborating. What’s the point of showing changes, if you can’t identify them? The wording on the change list should instead be <Actor name from outliner (Package Short Name)>
yes it’s terrible. is there a git system that can decipher these changes into readable text? like in what century are we living in where i cannot see the changes in git?
