Show several components?

Apparently, I did not start this subject in feature requests a year ago:
Show several components?

Is it possible to have several components in 3D view at the same time?
When I tried, it didn’t seem to work.
It would be handy for placing control points that are intended to tie two components together…

If it’s a double-post or has been implemented now, please delete the topic…

Hi, it is not possible for now…

Anything planned?

i agree it would be really usefull!

hello, anybody else interested in this feature?

Yes, it would make my workflow much much more efficient! So please,

+1, very handy for controls points placements across 2 or 3 components

this would be useful.

maybe with an option to quickly see them as different colored points. or some other way that you can quickly see which points belong to each component. and then be able to switch back to full colour.

Not just points, but their cameras too! This would let you drag in cameras from each component and add required CP to lace the views together! Atm I point lasso, find cameras then control-drag them to the 2d windows for CP’ing
(stupid mineral samples - almost as bad as boardrooms but at least they have a lot of features to work with)
Thank you

Not sure if anything has progressed with this. I agree it would be very useful to view multiple components and their cameras simultaneously. But if the components overlap they may be hard to distinguish from one another, selection can also become tricky if using lasso type tools.

Viewing two or more components simultaneously can be achieved another way. By supporting 3d viewers which can each display a different component. A layout with multiple 3d viewers would allow different components to be examined side by side. Any selection activities would work across multiple viewers.

If such 3d viewers are implemented it would also be useful to be able to lock the 3d viewers cameras so as to move and rotate in sync. To lock (synchronize) cameras or unlock (allowing independent camera control) would just be a toggle.

Another way, in any other software, for visual comparison at least, would be to have two instances of RC running.

As it is, visual comparison is impossible!

Yes this feature would be very helpful
