Should I use "root motion from everything" in my motion matching setup?

I’m in the process of debugging my motion matching setup, and the title says it all.

Not using “root motion from everything” requires me to find a “max walk” speed that will match my walking animation—hello foot sliding. On that note, I don’t see the point of enabling root motion for the animations.

With state machines, when using “root motion from everything,” there was no foot sliding because root motion was handling it. I thought motion matching was a tool that would solve this problem without me having to make a state machine.
