CTRL+W to close editor tabs like a web browser would be epic, Epic.
Not sure, but maybe there is an option for this but just no shortcut set by default? Will have to check if there is. Otherwise I will give a +1
There probably is a way. Lemme know Kuhmaus.
Have not seen this functional for tabs, but you can close windows inside UE4 by alt+f4
I don’t have the link handy here but its definitely broken (acknowledged by Epic), especially on the mac, cmd+w is close tab but actually acts like cmd+q (quit) and it does it with no prompt to save open stuff SUPER annoying
Ctrl+W is the longstanding shortcut to duplicate the selection in UE4, so it’s unlikely we’d add the shortcut as this key bind, but should certainly be key bindable. I’ll throw in a feature request (UE-15784).

Actually, it looks like this already works using the same key bind as Visual Studio: Ctrl+F4 will close one asset editor tab in a stack, and Alt+F4 will close the whole window.

This was working (Ctrl+f4 to close tab) all the way up to UE 5.0.1 but no longer works in 5.1.1
(5.3) Ctrl+W to close tab. Thanks. But how to return to Content Browser? After close tab UE switch to previuos tab.
