Just launched my latest project: a samurai short film created using Unreal Engine 5.4! Inspired by the captivating visuals of ‘Dune’ and the riveting storylines of ‘Shogun’ on Hulu, this film blends cutting-edge technology with timeless storytelling. Dive into the world of ancient warriors and epic landscapes in this thrilling cinematic experience.
Just wrapped up a breakdown on animation techniques in Unreal Engine 5.4! Explored using Wonder AI for animation generation and technical blending for various effects. Covered retargeting, rigging, sequence creation, and rendering—all within UE.
I know importing animation from Wonder using references from film may not be ideal, but it’s a topic worth discussing for indie studios or personal projects like mine. Check out the breakdown:
While I’ve not seen the movie Dune in full, I have been able to peek at a few clips to understand your inspiration. I can 100% say that I see where you pulled your inspiration from and you do well to replicate the same feeling that I can only describe as this steady mysticism. I’m also reminded of a film called Riddick (2013).
Will you be making more short films following this kind of style aesthetically and storytelling wise?
Hi @The_M0ss_Man
Thank you so much for your kind words and for recognizing the inspiration behind my work! I’m glad to hear that you felt a similar sense of mysticism in the animation. While I appreciate your interest in seeing more films in this style, I must admit that continuing in this direction would require a significant budget. Honestly, it’s a bit of a financial stretch—I may need to tap into the “secret funds” I’ve been keeping from my wife, and that could lead to some interesting conversations! However, your encouragement means a lot, and if the opportunity arises to pursue projects like this in the future, I’ll definitely consider it. Thanks again for your support!
