I cannot use UE4.10.1, at least not very efficiently as it stands. I attempted to package, for shipping the “advanced vehicle” demo, as a test, in shipping form. It built alright and everything is in the folder I specified. However, when I run the exe, nothing happens for several seconds, and then the window that the exe is viewed in hangs. It doesn’t crash, it doesn’t say “explorer.exe has stopped responding”, it just becomes uninteractable. The only way to resume using my machine after this is to restart the system. I have the exact same problem coding console projects in VS2013 w/ c++ but that’s a different story.
I’m running the latest Home version of Windows 10, and I do not experience this on my desktop, which has W10 enterprise. The game is built as a 64-bit windows exec.
Also, the install is definitely clean, I attempted this immediately after installation.
I have been able to successfully package Vehicle Advanced for shipping distribution for Windows 64. The game ran perfectly fine after packaging. Are you able to package any other projects on your computer for shipping? Which version of Windows are you currently running?
I am also encountering this error from my game in 4.10.1.
Running on Windows 7.
This appears to be a hard issue, as when I move the package to a different hard on my PC it runs fine. Is this likely a problem on my end or could it be an engine thing?
I package straight to my A . Try to open project and it just hangs, then I move it to my W (an SSD) and it opens fine, it also runs fine on my network and my other SSD .
I would suggest this is most likely a hardware issue unless unreal has some dependencies that are dependent?
Which , A or W has the engine installed on it? How large is your project? If it’s hanging, it probably is just taking its time to load up, since one is a SSD and the other is not.
