From ‘Sharkman’ director Sergio Ayrosa, DMP and Environments Lead at Weta FX and volunteer community manager for Epic Games Unreal Commnunity in Wellington:
“Coming from a VFX background, the ability to do lookdev, layout and animation on a fully lit scene, all in real time, is just pure fun.
As a writer/director, it is also a great tool for story and character development and you end up with a playable environment you can keep iterating on. Or just cruising around.
Highly inspired by freediving around Wellington, New Zealand, ‘Sharkman’ is currently being developed as a short film under the _rufcut label. Blending live action and CGI, is a body horror about a real estate business man who falls under a curse, after starting to develop a resort on sacred ancestral land, and is forever bound to the ocean.”
