Hello, I’m looking for ways to share weapon grip animations on several humanoid characters with different hand and finger proportions.
Let’s say I have hundred of fight animation that were made on a male character, weapon is attached to a weapon socket under the hand bone, then what are the different options to correctly place the weapon socket in my female’s hand so animations are correctly playing?
I already tested:
- Manually adjust weapon position in the rig based on position difference when playing an animation
→ Best fit but doing the math for many character isn’t that suitable - Place weapon socket roughtly the same way (inside the closing fingers) on male and female, update refPose with male skeleton and play the animation on female
→ Offset is still visible and weapon overlap through the hand
What other options do I have?
