Hello together,
I have created a model of a banana plant in Blender and then imported it into the Unreal Engine. It’s a static mesh.
I tried to create the wind like in this tutorial: Simple Global Wind in UE4 (One weird trick! Everyone hates him!) - YouTube
Actually, everything works fine, but I have very ugly shadows on the banana plant leaves.
They look like flat shaded Triangles.
I tried it with many different settings in the UE.
– Shadow Map Method: Shadow Maps looks a bit better.
– Material Settings: Shading Model: Default Lit or Two Sided Foliage looks the same.
– Tried with and without Two Sided option.
– Tried it with a normal map… and more…
I also exported the model several times from Blender with different settings.
– Tried with edge split, auto smooth and so on…
But nothing has helped so far.
I use the UE 5.0.3. But it’s the same in UE 4.27.
If anyone knows what the reason could be, I would be very happy about your help.
Tell me if you need more Information.
Here a video how it looks:
That is the shader:
