Shader Model 6 (SM6) is required... but crashes my Mac editor from open with it enabled.

I have a source engine of UE 5.6 on my new Mac Studio and enabling the denoted SM6 setting in my settings prompts 1.) a restart and 2.) trying to restart will freeze the editor from loading again. Until I go back into my default engine .ini and re-disable SM6 so my editor can open.

Is there a way to remove this pop-up for a feature that is clearly breaking my editor?

click the dismiss button. and disable virtual shadow maps and ray tracing.

those feature clearly depend on sm6.
