Shader complexity increased from UE4 to UE5?

I’ve noticed that shaders are more computationally complex in UE5 than UE4, primarily using the Shader Complexity viewing.

Here’s an image of a new level with no other changes (i.e. File → New Level → Default). Is this a bug, an issue with my setup, or just how things are to get all the awesome stuff with UE5?

In this image I’m using prebuilt UE 4.26.2 and self built from the ue5-early-access branch.
