Settings saved in project

It seems that project settings are not saved to project when saving.

For example if I work with project X and change settings etc and then save Later I work project with Z and there I use different settings. Now when i re-open project X the settings etc are not the same as  they were when i was working with project X earlier. Now all settings are still the ones that I changed them in project Z

Is this how it should be or am I missing something?

Hi janosh,

yes, unfortunately RC saves the settings globally and not per project.

I think there is an ancient feature request for that to which you could add your vote…

I’m surprised to hear this, tho haven’t tried it, but maybe some people haven’t noticed the three tiny buttons bottom left of Alignment settings

The middle one brings up a Save To dialog which sure looks like you can save the current settings to same directory, same filename, as your rcproj file etc; and this can be recalled with the bottom button. No?

In the land of the blind, the one eye-man is king…

Square eyed more like!

hahaha!

It’s a "workaround though. I personally would find it much more intuitive to have project related settings, at least the ones that usually change due to differences in the models…

You might want to have optional different settings for any given project, not just have your last change stored.

Wd be gd tho, on Open, to be asked to choose your Custom Settings file within same dialog at same time. Bit like Microstation - ugh.

wow, didnt notice that option, thx
