Setting up animations from default mesh to the UE4 Mannequin: Mobile

Hello there!
I am looking for any help possible. I am fairly new to unreal engine. I have only messed around with a handful of assets to create some environments. I was looking into making a side scroller game. When i load the default side scroller project it comes preloaded with a character mesh, animations set up for it etc.
My question is this: I have downloaded the asset: UE4 Mannequin Mobile and added it to my project. How can I switch this character out with the default one and still keep all the animations that are set up on the default one? The game is going to be for mobile devices therefore having the mobile mannequin will help with making it run better. If anyone could help me out or point me in the right direction! Maybe this has already been covered somewhere? Thank you very much for any help.
