Setting a custom icon in the Anti-Cheat bootstrapper

I am trying to set a custom icon for the anti-cheat bootstrapper.
The official documentation on using anti-cheat states that it is not possible to set a custom icon displayed by Windows Explorer for the bootstrapper. Can you confirm that this limitation is in effect, or is there an alternative method to achieve this result?

Furthermore, if an external tool were used to modify the executable icon, would the anti-cheat detect this modification on the bootstrapper and, as a result, block its execution?

Hello @Luigi.Tomaino ,Welcome back to the forums!
I’ve been doing some research, and if I understood it correctly, according to the official anti-cheat documentation this is a known limitation.

It is not possible to set or customize the icon displayed by Windows Explorer for the anti-cheat bootstrapper. The bootstrapper executable is distributed and validated as-is, and its internal resources (including the icon) are not intended to be modified.

Additionally, using external tools to change the executable icon would imply modifying the binary. Based on what I’ve read and mentioned above, the anti-cheat performs integrity checks and signature validation, so this type of modification would very likely be detected and could prevent the bootstrapper from functioning correctly.
Hope it helps!
