Set variable node seems to be changing the value of the variable

Here you can see in debug mode that when the variable goes into the Set node, it’s 3.

But you can see also that the value coming out of this node is 1.

Can you provide more context? Where that’s coming from and where it’s going, for instance! Maybe what the default value is, as well?
