Set layer on props / other assets?

When you imported a model, in the window where you add materials/set collision etc etc it would be great to have a “folder name” or “layer name” option, if you put in a name there it will always place that asset in that layer/folder name in the outliner. So for instance if I add a “prop” I can add that name and whenever I place that object in my scene it will be in that layer. If I place a tree, I can add those in a “vegetation” layer and so on… in the end you’ll end up with a quick way of selecting and hiding whatever assets you want, would also help debugging in some cases I’m sure.
