Found a small bug while working with UMG widgets. This may be a leading cause of confusion when it comes to focusing widgets. I set up a new widget on my player character BP and told the game to focus it. However…
When compiling, the Target pin of the “Set Input Mode Game and UI” blueprint node does NOT throw an error or even a warning telling you that you forgot to connect the Target to a Controller Reference. My focusing would not work until I hooked that up, but it never told me why it was failing or that I had forgotten this.
