Open a blank project with starter content, then open the wall sconce blueprint and add the “set actor scale 3d” node right after the “contruction script” node. After setting the values in the “set actor scale 3d” node to ‘1,1,1’ I was still able to free scale an instance placed in the map. Setting the values to anything other than ‘1,1,1’ made the instance behave as expected, i.e not change scale after the initial resize.
