Currently, you can animate sequences such that asset transforms are relative to the Sequence Root rather than in World Space. It’s a Cinematic feature I use all of the time for repositioning sequences. However, it could really do with some improvements.

For example, when assigning a Transform Origin Actor, it needs to be a NEW empty Actor. You can’t just assign the sequence’s Level Sequence Actor itself to be the root, which would be really useful to have. It would also be great if we could enable a Project Setting or something that enables Sequence Root by default for all new sequences in the project (but can still be toggled on/off per-sequence as usual). Sequence Roots are SO useful but it is disabled and hidden away by default. Sometimes I only realise it is disabled too late into making a shot, and I need to recreate most of it so that keyed asset’s transforms are relative to the Sequence Root instead of relative to the Absolute World Position.

Additionally, moving the Transform Origin Actor does not update the sequence position/offset in real time. You need to move the Origin around, and then go in/out of the Camera Cut view to “refresh” it and update the sequence to snap to the Origin’s new position. It would be great if the sequence updated in real time as the Origin is moved around. It would also be good if we could have a “Master” sequence, and animate the position of sub-level sequence actors (shots) over time.
