Hi guys
HUGE UE4 fan here!
I have been waiting for the sequencer tool since I learned to use Unreal Engine 6 months ago, and I upgraded to 4.10 preview as soon as I read about it.
It looks and feels really smooth. Its very basic so far, but knowing the engine pretty well by now I am sure its going to be as deep as any of the other tools.
A couple of questions:
Will you make it possible to access and control all public variables from the sequencer?
Right now I cant do anything with the events track, but I guess you are working on it. Will this be only for level blueprint events or will it be possible to trigger events directly in actor blueprints as well?
Will it be possible to record input? Then I could use a gamepad, or even maybe hook up a midi fader through the Live Editor plugin and record movement directly. That would be insane! Way to insane!
And a couple of feature suggestions:
In most movie editors you can insert an audio track in the sequencer for easy synchronization to sound and music. Is there any chance of seeing this feature in your sequencer in the future? That would be amazing!
If it would be possible to add a Beats Per Minute grid for easy music sequencing it would be absolutely crazy. Wouldnt even need to be possible to snap the keyframes to the grid, just have it as an visual overlay.
I love the Engine. Its definitely the most powerful software ever created. But I am more interested in making VR movies than games, and im sure im not the only one. If you would implement features like these I am sure you would reach a whole new fanbase.
Looking forward to see what features you will implement in the sequencer! All the best
Marius
