- I have been trying to use masks that I generate myself with code I wrote in python. The masks are automatically named <full_image_name>.mask.png and saved in the same folder as the original images.
- In one project I have a vase that was photographed standing up, and on its side, both configurations needed foam to be placed underneath the vase in order to stabilize it.
- The python generated masks automatically mask out the foam, so I thought it would be a convenient way to reduce processing time and work around the process of filtering points and exporting masks from Reality Capture.
- For some reason the masks import correctly but do not actually result in the exclusion of the foam after I align the images. Am I missing something?
- I have used this method in the past and it does seem to impact the alignment (the python generated masks import, reduce alignment time, and generally improve alignment of rotating objects).
Hi @Machspeedz
The masks seem to be OK.
After import, are those masks imported as layers or separately?
Also, can you check what do you have set for How to use masking layer?
And check if mask is B&W (only 0 and 1 in the mask).
