Seeking Solution: Uniform Texture Color in Reality Capture Regardless of Normal Direction

Hello,

is there an option in Reality Capture to display the 3D model with the same texture color regardless of the direction of the normal?

Currently, there’s a blue color added to the texture when the normal points inward.

This is inconvenient for Orthophotos as well.

Thank you.

Ben

Hi, I think there is nothing to do with that for models. But when the normals are in other direction, it seems like the model wasn’t computed correctly. Can you show the issue?
For orthos you can set the back-face color to a wanted one.

I can’t show the exemple because it’s confidential data but I can describe the situation:
The model is a room, pictures are taken from the inside so the normal are pointing in the room in the 3D reconstruction. Thus, when I look at the model from the outside it’s with the blue layer on top of texture.

I think this is just a visibility function in RealityCapture. Is that blue texture also on exported model?
The textures shouldn’t consist of that blue color:

For orthos set Backface color to Default (to not get blue parts)

And it will result like:

Left is with Blue, right is set as Default.

Also, after setting the Backface color to Default and Render the ortho you shouldn’t see the blue mesh.
