My game has no affiliation or claim to any other, it is a third person shooter and I use some models I found on Sketchfab which other people made based on other aliens that already exist, but they behave differently and have different names.
Hi You say this Creative Commons is for non-commercial use, You have been misled. All the work and derivatives are owned by a commercial organisation
If you try and sell it you need the original producer/owner who has to give you personally a legal notice that you are allowed to use this FOR EVER.
This is why commercial companies always avoid CC/GNU and its lesser form basically there are limits. The copyright law is different in the US the UK and Europe. You would be wise to check the EULA that you agreed to with Epic. if its for use for Fortnite/UEFN FORGET IT!. It must be absolutely your only own work.
You can use it for educational purposes , but you must refer to the original owner in all your paper and documentation and preferably get a statement of permission or this will be regarded as A FORM OF PLAGARISM
So all that stuff listed on sketchfab is essentially violating copyright and the CC attribution they list is not valid because the work is too similar to the existing one?
I mean, someone made a model themselves with their own hard work and posted it on sketchfab for others to use. That model is based on the Starcraft Hydralisk.
Starcraft basically ripped off Warhammer, Orcs were invented by Tolkien, nothing is truly original. Your logic is flawed. I asked a question, I’m not looking for a lecture from some stiff. If I have to make my own models I will, but a hydralisk is simply a mix between a hydra and a basilisk. Calm down mate.
