Seeking C++ Programmer for Sword-fighting game: Networking and Collision

We are seeking to hire a programmer to assist us in the development of an arena multiplayer sword-fighting game.

This game builds on our highly successful Combat Animation Enhancement mod, which replaced virtually all of the melee combat animations in Mount & Blade: Warband, and is informed by our combined 30 years of martial arts experience. Our game, though simple to control, will bring as-yet-unseen depths of tactics, versatility and realism to the genre.

Our progress so far
We have a prototype implementation of the core combat actions of the game: movement, attacking and blocking.

Areas we need assistance with

  1. Networking
  2. Collision detection for sword-sword and sword-character interactions
  3. Game rules, including modes and scoring
  4. Translation, where beneficial, of prototype Blueprint scripting into C++

Who we’re looking for
A programmer, based in Brisbane, Australia. A capacity for creative problem-solving is essential.

The position is open to recent and soon-to-be graduates of relevant courses, as well as to more experienced applicants.

What we’re offering
Paid work on a project with a credible path to a saleable product, as well as experience working with a team, with the potential for ongoing collaborations. We are also happy to negotiate royalties.

We look forward to hearing from you!
