UE5 Character Animator / Rigger Wanted – Tactical Shooter Project (Rev-Share)
Hello everyone,
We are an ambitious indie development team currently creating a third-person, cover-based tactical shooter in Unreal Engine 5 (UE 5.7.1). We are seeking a talented Character Animator with rigging expertise to help bring our characters to life with precision and realism.
The project is actively in development and led by an experienced Creative Director, supported by artists and a composer. We are working toward a fully playable Alpha milestone.
To remain transparent, we do not yet have a dedicated Unreal developer or designer on the team. As such, strong collaboration, adaptability, and clear cross-disciplinary communication are essential.
About the Project
- Genre: Third-Person Cover-Based Tactical Shooter
- Engine: Unreal Engine 5.7.1
- Goal: A playable Alpha demonstrating core gameplay systems
The project focuses on tactical combat, responsive character movement, and immersive gameplay mechanics.
Role — Character Animator / Rigger
We are looking for an animator who can design, develop, and integrate high-quality character rigs and animation systems within Unreal Engine. You will collaborate closely with the Creative Director and Gameplay Programmer to ensure seamless integration between animation and gameplay.

Key Responsibilities
- Rig and animate characters using Unreal Engine 4/5 mannequin systems as a foundation
- Create skeletal meshes and character rigs from scratch when required
- Adapt and expand existing rig templates
- Produce locomotion, combat, and interaction animations
- Integrate animations using Unreal Engine Animation Blueprints
- Collaborate with the Gameplay Programmer to ensure seamless gameplay integration

Required Skills
- Proven experience in character rigging and animation
- Experience working with Unreal Engine 4 or 5 mannequin systems
- Ability to create skeletal meshes and rigs from scratch
- Experience adapting and enhancing existing animation systems
- Knowledge of ALS (Advanced Locomotion System)
Bonus Skills:
- Familiarity with AGLS (Adventure Game Locomotion System)
