Search menu prioritizing results with Exact name

There might be a reason this isn’t a thing, but I feel like I would be so much more productive if the node I am looking for Via search came up at the top of the list, selected, if its exact name is typed out.

The number of times I’ve been writing Materials and been looking for the “Distance” node, by typing its name in, and then having to search a long list of other nodes with “Distance” in the name. If there is a node with that exact name surely I can just type “Distance”, hit enter, and have the right node in front of me.

But yes, indeed, seconded. The context menu usability deteriorated in UE 5.x

This should bring up Subtract as the very first choice.


One thing you can do atm, is to enable favourites:

And flag nodes you often use. They will pop up on top providing the context is right - that’s without typing anything:
