Title says it all.
Whenever I need to read a text field for a setting it’s a pain to resize the pane or column width just to read what it says. If the text scrolled when moused over (when too long for column width) that would make the ease of editor use closer to being frictionless, especially when the text is only a single word longer, or even just a few characters.
The other option is to include the setting name in the description bubble that already appears, much like the way Chrome does it for their tabs when the page title is too long.
