Hi Fredy
This error is known, and only under Win 7, we are looking into solving it.
Thanks!
Hi Fredy, can you PM me at muzeumhb@gmail.com?
I will guide you what to set to solve the scrip issue…
Hi Fredy,
could you please write your hardware configuration, OS version, whether you have the latest windows update, internet browsers you have installed, the installation path and whether you are admin on the computer or not?
Based on that I can try to simulate the issue in a testing environment. Thank you
Hello, I am having this problem too- very annoying popups especially when cursor hovers over various items in 1D views.
Running Win7 64bit SP1, on Alienware M18X, i7 2760, 24Gb, dual GTX 460M GPUs
Is this just a windows 7 thing? Be nice if I didn’t have to upgrade to win 10… I had win10 on this when I bought it - much prefer windows 7!
cheers
pete
Hi peterwatsonsurveying
Yes, for now this problem is related only to Win7 (both 32 & 64 Bit versions).
Might have to try a dual boot windows setup… any recommendation for win10 or win 8.1? either one better for RC?
Hi Peter Watson
I prefer Win 8.1, as it is the most stable OS ( updates included but run only every few weeks )
Windows 10 needs, at least from my experience, few months (6-12) of tuning and not being able to control UPDATES in my sort of work when processing LARGE datasets (more days) is a big minus…
Thanks wishgranter, i will try a dual boot win 7 / win 8.1 setup to eliminate this issue for the time being.
interesting… I’ve never seen this on windows 7.
Hi Chris
we have tested it for reproducibility on our side, but we could not pinpoint the precise cause of this, it looks like a combination of some Java and Windows updates in the particular system.
Have realized I will need to wait until I have a licence renewal due to do this otherwise I won’t be able to transfer licence from a win7 computer to win10 OS.
On this point- is a ram upgrade considered a major upgrade which will deactivate my licence? I have a few extra GB I want to install in laptop.
Hi peterwatson
RAM expansion -> NO, it is not considered to be a major upgrade, so it will work when you add RAM to the PC.
Hi,
Still no solution to this error? The workaround solution is very simple.
In Control Panel / Internet Properties / Security / Trusted Sites / Sites, add “about:blank” to the list of trusted sites. Don’t forget to un-check “Require server verification…”
I attached a screenshot. It works for me.

On the developers side, you should maybe give the option to disable tooltips in CR. Otherwise, disable tooltips by default on windows 7.
It it also works for you, then that’s a better solution than reinstalling windows or setting up a dual-boot
Nice work jmontserrat!

This behaviour, happening only on Windows 7, should be already fixed in our 1.0.2.2250 RC release.
