Screen Space Reflections pixelated and distorted

Hi -

No problem at all. Can you let me know if you are completely turning off your skylight? You should be able to leave it at a very low intensity (like 0.1 or 0.15). You can also try to go into world settings under lightmass and adjust the environment color from black to a little color but this will not work will with PBR and will be deprecated soon. Have you added an ambient cubemap into your level that also might help as well?

i have the Environment lightmass set to 0.1, dark blue and the
Skylight is 0.001 (night cycle). I also have my height fog controlled with the suns height as well, i was using a ambient cubemap but its to bright for the night cycle

If you are using Dynamic GI then you have enabled LPVs, correct? I ran a test and just believe that you have turned your skylight down too far, try using 0.009 instead, its too close to 0 for float point error and the engine will try to read it as zero.

I have attached my test project for your to look through, if you see an issue that differs from your setup please correct in the project and rezip it back up here. To switch from night to day Press K.

Test Project

hitting k isn’t working, and there is something wrong with my lighting, i imported the model in the test project without generating lightmaps because iv made my own, and its looks sexy. I cant put my finger on it whats wrong, i imported the day night cycle over with the values im using, I changed the skylight to 0.009 as you mentioned and its what im looking for. but on my project its all black

My settings are identical to yours. model and light maps are identical to yours. I also tested it in a new project and looks the same as your project

made a new project and its like your one, so pretty much my project lighting is bad. Would explain why it continuously crashes all the time

Ok Eric, i have deleted everything on my project to make it like yours to save on Data space when sending it to you, iv including the model above with my project and updated testproject with the skybox and model, so you can see what is wrong with the lighting, I reckon it might be a bug or something, this would also be the reason why my PBR values were so off =S, so it wasn’t me xD

Ok i found out its got something to do with the importing, I copied over the assets to a new project and the same thing was happening, but when i imported them from there fbx files its default as your project, this sucks means i have to redo 5 months of work, is there a way of saving my current one eric

this is weird as well, its now showing my updated textures in my project, I overwritten them to get rid of the white-lines on it but kept showing them, i think I had some sort of cache or update issue with the project. when you look at the model up close you will see whitelines, In the new one they’re not there at all

I started a new project and reimporting everything, and iv tested my old settings and they work but iv changed it to 0.002001 on the skylight, i may have reason to believe when it use to be Non-GI project something happened with the baking and now its stuck on it

with the new project i can go down to at least 0.001001. the 1 at the end is so that the engine can pick it up , so it isn’t that close to zero and in the new project iv adjusted the roughness on the other models to be the same (roughly around the same value as this model) ill show a video of this . this will take me afew days to get everything but up to what it was, rather do that then use the existing settings since something stuffed up, and i put in to GI straight away before importing anything so i wont get that issue again, it probably happened due to making a blankC++ control for plugins, glade that plugins are now supported in 4.7.4

I am glad we got your lighting back up and running the way you are wanting it. At times I know, it can be frustrating but it is looking really good now. I would recommend if you every think that you might have corrupted data in the project whether light maps or otherwise , trying to remove any Intermediate, Derived Data cache (not always present) and Saved folders from the project folders to completely clean out possibly corrupted data.

Eric how do i contact you privately or find someone about a market place product issue, i bought landscape material pack $9.99 to cut production time, but the Information is falsified the textures are not 1024, cant use any of the textures, textures look like they have been taken from the web with all 99% of the textures not being power of 2, Im also getting a weird artifact blur and sharpness issue with the textures(yes i have the blur disabled in Post Processing) and i dont get this issue when i use the standerd textures or the free GT Textures or textures i get from CG Textures, how do i request a refund or store credit for this as the product is unusable and are you able to investigate this product
