Scoring system linked to player movement?

Hey,

I want to make my scoring system link to player movement, as in score goes up every second while the player is moving and stops when the player player stops.

I’m new to this and do not yet have a scoring system or HUD of any kind. I need a step by step including HOW to do these things and not just what to do. Obviously a lot of people don’t have the time to do this so don’t worry if you can’t answer. Cheers if you can!

do you want the score to represent distance traveled? or amount of time in motion?

Time in motion. I originally wanted to just have the score go up every second but then i realised the player could sit out of the way for some time and get a decent score without really playing so to combat that i thought i should tie it to movement then sitting out of the way doesn’t get them any points.

I tried to do what you said but I’m just too new to this for any of it to make sense to me. Is there a way you can explain it like you’re talking to someone who doesn’t know how to do it, because I really don’t. Cheers!
