I just finished this fluffy cat here using UE4 taking advantage of the hair shader with some extra shading tricks you might enjoy like using world position offset for some cheap fur motion and some UV trickery to make the hair appear far denser than it is. anyway here’s a link to the artstation post if you are interested.
